This Time Of Year
Yesterday was cold, windy and rainy/snowy. I stayed in bed all day until I had to teach class. Before class, I decided to go for a walk to clear my mind and ended up in Faneuil Hall. I was in a bit of a funk (which happens when the weather sucks and you've been in bed for an entire day) and then I saw the Christmas lights and I got so ridiculously happy.
I don't care if it's too soon! I just don't. This time of year is the best. I love all the corny stuff; listening to Christmas music, buying or making gifts, lighting candles, decorating, watching traditional Christmas movies. When I was younger, I used to literally watch QVC all day because they would show Christmas gifts all the time. And you better believe once "25 Days of Christmas" begins on ABC Family, I will be there! In spirit, because I do not have a TV.
I'm about to do some yoga with a pine-scented candle lit while listening to the She & Him Christmas album. (Then I will probably get back into bed.) But, tis the season! Let's do this.
