Goodernatch!

One of the great things about doing improv is the community. I'm surrounded by talented and wonderful people all the time! And I have a lot of friends. But, really, not many compare to the guys of Awkward Compliment for me. They are some of my best friends in the world. Even last night, DiBello and I did a show at Northeastern, then went to Davis Square to hang out with those idiot friends of ours for like... an hour. Then took a $30 cab ride home. Because we love them!

I miss Matt and Casey. All the time. I understand that people move and that life is a revolving door and people are constantly walking in and out of it. But I hate it! I've never missed anyone as much as those two. They're my brothers. Today is Matt's birthday. And when I realized that last night I remembered that I bought him a present that I never sent him. So, this is my temporary present to him. Until he gets the real thing... like next week. It's real cute, Matt. Like, when you open it, you'll go, "Yeah. This is a Patty gift."

Anyway, here's to Matt! The Baby Faciest of all the Baby Faces. Who would do anything for me in a heartbeat. Who would absolutely beat the shit out of anybody for me (because he likes getting into fights) (and Casey can't.) Who would help me when I'm being helped. Who would let me come over, drink bottles of wine, pass out on his couch and then he would hide my HOUSE keys so I wouldn't drive my car home drunk in a snowstorm which I would eventually do anyway... because he took my HOUSE keys. Who would give me three of the best gifts I've ever received {a giant owl, a giant picture frame with pictures of him and Casey and the above picture.} AND WHO IS THE BEST DYAD IN THE WORLD.

i love you BFG!

Pile of Leather Gang

Leather Gang is one of my three favorite improv troupes in the city of Boston. I guess you can say that I'm biased because I'm in the three improv troupes that are my favorites. But, whatever. Leather Gang is definitely my #1 favorite improv troupe that rehearses between the hours of 5 and 7 on Sunday nights.You can see them perform here on Tuesday nights at 8pm. {That's... tonight!}

Here is some photographic proof of how much fun we have. This particular time, we switched articles of clothing with each other. It helps us... work on... group dynamic. Or something.

California Has A New Girl in Town

Last night, the Leather Gang had its first member leave the group! It was weird… and didn’t feel real. Our group has been together since January 2009 and hasn’t been altered at all. And there’s nobody we love to make fun of more than Matt Gudernatch. It probably won’t even sink in that he’s gone until like, three weeks, when he comes back from L.A. (When he’s done hanging out with his crew… by the pool.)

Here are my top five Gudernatch memories:
(that won't be interesting, or make sense, to anyone else)
1. T.G.I.Friday’s Thursdays. Like the time he told us he was going to write a TV. show and film a pilot! And then the time he and Casey fought because “Casey wasn’t a good actor” for said pilot in front of DiBello and I. And the time his Bruins commercial came on and he got up and yelled, “THAT’S ME!” And when he and DiBello told the group we got a weekly show! All while getting shitfaced of f cheap drink specials and eating burgers with mozzarella sticks on them.

2. The time I drank two bottles of wine at his apartment and passed out on the couch. Then got up in the middle of the night to drive home (in a snow storm). He thought he hid my car keys, but no. He hid my apartment keys. So I drove all the way home… but wasn’t able to get into my apartment.

3. When I texted him and asked him to come to a party at my place that night. He said, “I’m in Kittery with Casey.” And I said, “Bring me back an owl figurine from the Kittery Trading Post!” He brought me back a giant owl hunting target. Which of course I woke up next to the next day and it scared the shit out of me.

4. That time he walked into a bar for my birthday carrying my gift, a GIANT picture frame with several pictures of him and Casey.

5. The time he didn’t go out to Goody’s after a show and I sent him a creepy picture with DiBello that was supposed to say, “Help! I’m being raped!” But instead, I wrote, “Help! I’m being HELPED!”

In all seriousness, I’m really going to miss him. He’s one of the most selfish people I’ve ever met. Wait, that’s not… a good thing… to say.

But really, he has more drive than anyone I know. And he'll probably succeed. And write parts for me. I love my dyad!!!!

Leather Gang

Every week, I do a lot of improv. With tons of different people. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's weird.

But I can always count on the Leather Gang to  do something dumb. Like in this picture. Where we just sat on the floor. Put our legs on top of each other. And made fun of each other.

That was a lot of text when all I really wanted to say was, LOOK HOW TAN MY LEGS ARE!
